Early Army "Open Air" Meeting
The Salvation Army's Waynesboro Chapel

William Booth, Founder.
The Salvation Army was founded in 1865 in East London by a young Methodist minister named William Booth. Booth was a student of the Wesleyan tradition and Methodist ministry and believed that all men, women, and children deserved dignity in accessing the basic needs of life as well as the opportunity to experience the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

Today, The Salvation Army stands prepared to minister to both the spiritual and physical needs of our community. In Waynesboro, The Salvation Army provides Christian ministry and fellowship through the ordained pastorship of Lieutenants John and Stephanie Blevins as well as community services through the Emerigency Social Services Program.
